12/10 | Gordon Burn Prize | Durham : This year’s 2017 Gordon Burn Prize ceremony is hosted by Mark Lawson at Durham Town Hall. The evening includes readings by the shortlisted writers and discussion of their work, as well as an avant-garde jazz performance from composer David McLean’s ‘Crime Scene’ ensemble.
15/10 | Backlisted Podcast Special | Durham : The literary podcast that gives new life to old books returns to Durham Book Festival for a special episode dedicated to Gordon Burn’s extraordinary first novel Alma Cogan. Hosts John Mitchinson and Andy Miller will be joined by the writers Ben Myers and Adelle Stripe for a frank and fascinating discussion of Gordon Burn’s fiction debut.
