I’ll be reading at this year’s Ted Hughes Festival 2013 on Saturday October 26th at the Poetry Cafe (Erringden Room) in Mytholmroyd. Just around the corner from my house.
Joining me is Jenn Ashworth, who’ll be reading from her recent novel The Friday Gospels, based on her experiences of growing up in the Latter Day Saints community in Lancashire. Jenn is the author of A Kind of Intimacy and Cold Light; she teaches Creative Writing at Lancaster University and is also a fellow graduate of Manchester University’s Centre for New Writing. She’s one of my favourite Northern writers, and I’m really looking forward to hearing her read at the festival.
The event runs from 1-2pm, admission £3. From 2.15 pm Steve Ely will be reading poems in the same venue, so it’s well worth the trip down to both events.
More details about the festival can be found here.
